We've spent time looking into stability issues in 5.3.x. The following issues have been addressed in 5.4.
SimpleHelp 5.5.7
20241016-222143
Addresses an issue affecting Technician logins to the Technician Console. This release is recommended for users of 5.5.6 that are affected.
SimpleHelp 5.5.6
20241016-121429
Minor Changes
- Added a Technician Preference in the User Interface section to control whether the Technician Console should perform scaling natively, or should allow the underlying runtime to scale the window contents. Switching from Autodetect to Yes may help in multi-monitor Windows environments where dragging the Technician Console causes rendering to fail.
- OpenID Connect and AzureAD authentication services now support automatic Technician Group assignment.
- Direct UDP connections have been disabled. We have seen reports of this causing session instability in production due to the mechanism used to establish the peer-to-peer connections through firewalls. Direct UDP connections will now default to standard TCP.
Fixes
- Fixed instability issues when connecting to macOS Mojave and macOS High Sierra remote machines.
- Fixed elevation credentials encoding issues that may cause elevation to fail in some cases on Windows.
- Fixed an issue causing locally stored recordings to fail to automatically upload to the server during a session.
- Improved the server's ability to handle malformed network connections that may cause excessive CPU usage on the server.
SimpleHelp 5.5.5
20240916-151140
Bug Fixes
- Improved Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V shortcut handling on Windows remote hosts.

- Fixed File Transfer Mode path issues when connecting to a different operating system.
- Fixed an issue that may cause the "Screen sharing is paused" message to appear erroneously on the remote machine.
- Fixed an issue where large delays on remote machines may cause the session to start prior to the elevation utility starting, causing Ctrl+Alt+Del and other administrative requests to request credentials incorrectly.
- Fixed an issue where a mixture of LDAP authentication types across Technician Groups might cause automatic group assignments to not include all groups.
- Improved permission persistence on macOS when updating to or from SimpleHelp 5.5.
- Fixed an issue where concurrent tool runs may report different output to different target machines in the Access tab.
- General Server Manager improvements for Linux servers.

These include CIRD IP support to make it easier to specify what networks can connect to your server, network restrictions for administrators and remote work users (as well as technicians), automatic banning of users and/or IP addresses after a certain number of failed login attempts, graceful increasing of server response times as a user fails to login, and more.
- Technician Group Management - a set of features to make it easier to manage SimpleHelp servers with many Technician Groups. Create new groups by duplicating an existing group, or by creating a group using preconfigured settings. The group list can now be filtered to make it easier to find the group you need. Group inheritance features allow you to specify that a technician group should inherit permissions, limits and other settings from another technician group.
