SimpleHelp 5.0 License Transition

We're making some changes to SimpleHelp licenses.   
​This guide explains why licensing is changing, and how the changes will affect existing customers.
You can stay on your existing license plan if you wish
You will continue to get access to updates and new versions
You can transition to a new plan at any time

Why the change?

There are three main reasons we are changing the way SimpleHelp is licensed.
1. Simplicity and Flexibility
In recent versions we expanded SimpleHelp to add a new range of Remote Management features.  The new features were well received but we consistently heard from customers what said that remote management licensing is confusing, and too inflexible to meet their needs.

2. Niche Features
We've been developing Enterprise-grade features that are useful to a small subset of our customers, and need a mechnism to charge new enterprise customers without affecting costs for everyone.

3. Support
We want to better serve the customers we have, but also be able to offer more extensive support for those that need it.
Our goal is to simplify SimpleHelp licensing for both new and existing customers and give the best value we possibly can to customer with different needs.

Standard, Business or Enterprise

SimpleHelp 5.0 Licenses are still based on sessions. Instead of confusing add-ons to standard licenses we've split functionality into three tiers: Standard, Business and Enterprise, each of which has a different feature set depending on your needs.

Standard License Details
A Standard license is similar to the previous SimpleHelp license and the available features match as well - Remote Support, Remote Access, Presentations and Live Monitoring.

The number of remote access services that can register is limited to 1000.  The number of attendees is limited to 5, but now each presentation uses just one session.  

​Any classic SimpleHelp license can transition for no cost.  New Standard licenses are limited to a maximum of 20 sessions.  ​
Business License Details
The new Business license will include the features of our previous Remote Management license but will also add some great new ones like Mass Notifications, Mass Deployment, App Tunnels, Provider, Custom Alerts and Scheduled Toolbox.

The license limits the number of remote access services to 5000. Alerts, scheduled toolbox runs and all other mass management functions can be applied to all machines regardless of the session count.  

​Any classic Remote Management license can transition for no cost.  New Business licenses are limited a minimum 4, maximum 40 sessions.  ​

Enterprise License Details
Enterprise licenses are unlimited, and bring in some great new features we've been working on for using SimpleHelp on a large scale.

Multiple redundant servers with seamless failover, clustering for large HTTPS remote access deployments, RADIUS support and centralised licensing are all included.
