Manual Remote Access Service Removal

Occasionally it is possible for a Remote Access Service installation to be unable to uninstall, sometimes due to unrecoverable deletes and modifications made by an erroneous false positive from antivirus software or through disk corruption.

Should you find this to be the case, you can follow these simple steps to manually clear the installation and then reinstall:

  • In Microsoft Windows, open the Windows Services application
  • Find, and Stop the "Remote Access Service" service
  • Delete the entire "JWrapper-Remote Access folder" mentioned here

You should now be able to reinstall the Remote Access service. If you have antivirus software running and you suspect it has caused the issue, you may want to disable it temporarily or exclude the Remote Access folder, executables and installer.
