Resetting SimpleHelpAdmin MFA Token

For additional security SimpleHelp users can use multiple authentication mechanisms. In the event that email codes cannot be sent by the server or if the previously configured application to generate one time passwords cannot be used the SimpleHelpAdmin user will not be able to login. These instructions detail how to reset your SimpleHelpAdmin user's multi-factor authentication token.

In SimpleHelp v5.0 or later, you can reset your SimpleHelpAdmin one time password (OTP) token by running the Admin utility in the SimpleHelp server's installation folder. The Admin utility is located in the admin directory under the SimpleHelp server installation:

  • Windows: admin\admin.bat
  • Linux and other platforms: admin/admin.sh

You can also use the Admin utility to reset two factor authentication for the SimpleHelpAdmin if you are no longer able to generate an authentication code.
