Two releases are now available on the downloads page: SimpleHelp 5.5.15 and a prelease build of SimpleHelp v6.0.

SimpleHelp 5.5.15

5.5.15 is a stable release for everyone running the current production version of SimpleHelp. It includes fixes and improvements across the platform and is the recommended update for all existing installations.

SimpleHelp v6.0 Prelease

v6.0 is a major release focused on security and platform hardening. The highlights include technician device authorisation, remote access service approval, an application-level firewall, and a built-in security audit tool that analyses your server configuration and flags potential issues by severity.

We commissioned an independent security review from Agile Information Security ahead of this release. Their assessment found no major security issues, and every recommendation they made has been incorporated into the final version. You can read the full details in our post on what's coming in v6 and why we had our code reviewed.

Cyana AI

Alongside these releases, we've introduced Cyana. It connects SimpleHelp to large language models and lets you manage your fleet using natural language. It works with Claude, GPT, and Gemini, or you can run a local LLM on your own infrastructure.

Cyana represents the biggest addition to SimpleHelp since we launched the platform. We've written a separate post covering what Cyana does and how it works.

A Note on Code Signing

Both SimpleHelp 5.5.15 and SimpleHelp 6.0 are signed with a new code signing certificate. If you're running an older version of SimpleHelp, you may see a different certificate signature compared to previous installations. We plan to revoke the earlier certificate in the future, so we'd recommend updating to 5.5.15 to utilise the latest certificate.

Updating

Both releases are available from the SimpleHelp Downloads page. If you have any questions about the update process or the new certificate, reach out to us at [email protected].
